The debut album, It might as well be spring (RR Records) pairs Colleen with the John Roothaan Trio. Featuring John Roothaan on piano, Brian Sandstrom on bass and the Chicago legend, Drummer Rusty Jones. It's an enticing song collection from pop to standards.
I had a great time working on this project.....it was important for me to include a Hoagy Carmichael selection (Skylark) since he is also from the Hoosier state......and I enjoyed singing a song that wasn't traditionally a vocal tune Monk's Ba lue Bolivar Baluesare.

Colleen McNabb is a very versatile singer who prefers singing jazz. Originally from Auburn, Indiana, she was brought up in a home where music was important and she made her first recording at age five singing, New York, New York. Since then, she has performed all over the country in various venues and has centered her jazz career in Chicago. Performing venues such as the House of Blues Foundation Room, Green Dolphin Street, Gallery, Boulevard Cafe, Renaissance Hotel, Peninsula Hotel, and the Pump Room. She currently can be seen every Sunday and Tuesday night at the world famous Drake Hotel Coq d Or on Michigan Avenue.

In addition to performing Colleen feels that music education is very important and she continues her study at the Chicago College of Performing Arts and in May 2004 will earn her Masters in Jazz Studies. Colleen completed her undergraduate work in Music Education at Ball State University and continues to teach private voice and beginning piano. Also, while in Chicago she had the rare opportunity to begin a music program in a bilingual inner-city school.

Colleen credits her friends, family and her teachers for her success. I would say my biggest influences have been my mother, my teachers: Marge Meyers, Joyce Bell, Jackie Allen, Scott Mason, Mike Molloy, Joan Hickey, and Patti Barber. Additionally, I learn from every musician that I have the opportunity I work with.....everyone has been extremely encouraging and it's great fun .....I have been very fortunate.
